Meet the founder
Mahogany “Mos Precious” Henderson is the Founder and Executive Director of Most Precious Dreams Foundation®, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth through literacy, music, and creative education. A published children’s book author, international DJ, and creative educator, she brings more than 15 years of experience using storytelling and music to build confidence, improve literacy engagement, and inspire leadership in young people.
Through MPDF®, Mos Precious designs and leads culturally responsive programs that meet youth where they are, combining reading, creative arts, and self-expression to help students discover their voices and believe in their potential. Her signature initiatives, including the Beats & Literacy Experience, integrate DJ culture, storytelling, and interactive learning to support academic engagement, social-emotional development, and creative career exploration.
Driven by a commitment to access, representation, and opportunity, Mos Precious founded MPDF® to ensure that children—especially those from underserved communities—have the tools, mentorship, and encouragement needed to dream beyond their circumstances. Her work sits at the intersection of literacy advocacy, arts education, and youth empowerment, positioning Most Precious Dreams Foundation as a trusted partner for schools, donors, and community organizations seeking meaningful, measurable impact.

Our Story
Most Precious Dreams Foundation was born from a deep belief: that access to the arts, education, and mentorship can radically shift a child’s future. Founded by international DJ and community advocate Mahogany “DJ Mos Precious” Henderson, MPDF was created to bridge the gap between creativity and opportunity in underserved communities. Through music, storytelling, and leadership activities, we help youth discover their voice, build confidence, and chase their dreams.

MPDF understands the power of dreaming, and the potential of making those dreams a reality. We strive to inspire, encourage, and support as many of the youth in the communities with a strong focus on empowering all youth from diverse and impoverished communities. We strive to motivate and uplift their confidence through leadership, collaboration, and most importantly dreaming. One of our goals is to make a difference in the lives of young people by providing them with the opportunity to pursue their dreams. We provide a variety of programs to foster our mission of giving back to the community. Through mentorship, volunteering, and specialized programs, we strive to give each person the chance to dream of a better future and to have the resources to make it a reality.
